Microprocessador’s partnership with the Hospital do Litoral Alentejano began in 2004, the year the hospital started operating. Microprocessador was responsible for developing and implementing the hospital’s Building Management System.
The Building Management System oversees and monitors multiple aspects of the hospital’s infrastructure, supporting operations across several departments and units, including Imaging, the Intensive Care Unit, Physiotherapy, Social Services, the Day Hospital, the Operating Theatre, Immunotherapy, and Gastroenterology.
Hospital do Litoral Alentejano is a public hospital located approximately 6 km west of Santiago do Cacém, Portugal, and is part of the Unidade Local de Saúde do Litoral Alentejano (Alentejo Coast Local Health Unit). It provides healthcare services to an estimated population of around 100,000 people across five municipalities in the Alentejo Litoral region: Alcácer do Sal, Grândola, Odemira, Santiago do Cacém, and Sines.
This project is a strong example of Microprocessador’s ability to innovate, adapt, and respond when implementing automation solutions in buildings with demanding technical and operational requirements, such as a hospital of this scale.
