Microprocessador’s collaboration with CIRES, a leading company in the plastics processing industry within the chemical sector, began in 2001 and has steadily strengthened over the years. It reflects a solid and dynamic partnership built on mutual trust and continuous innovation.
Through this collaboration, Microprocessador, in close partnership with CIRES, has developed and implemented automation and control systems for its manufacturing units, specifically designed to meet the requirements of its industrial processes.
These solutions integrate OMRON PLC programming with industrial supervision systems based on Intellution iFIX software, enabling real-time visualisation, monitoring, and control of processes, thereby ensuring greater operational reliability and production efficiency.
Simultaneously, Microprocessador is responsible for the comprehensive development of the associated electrical projects, including the design of electrical schematics, programming, assembly, and construction of automation cabinets for industrial control and supervision. This integrated approach ensures a robust and simplified architecture that is fully aligned with CIRES’ operational requirements, promoting the continuous optimisation of its production units.
Established in 1960, CIRES resulted from a partnership between five Portuguese and two Japanese companies, becoming the first post-war Portuguese-Japanese industrial venture in Europe. In 2009, its full integration into Shin-Etsu Chemical Co.—one of its founding shareholders—strengthened its growth potential and consolidated Shin-Etsu’s tripolar system: Japan, the United States, and Europe.
Shin-Etsu is the global leader in the industry, with production capacity representing approximately 10 percent of global consumption.
