EuroResinas Project

EuroResinas

Siemens
SIMATIC PCS7

The partnership between Microprocessador and the customer EURORESINAS began in 1989 with the development of a software program with SIEMENS S5 technology, for the customer facility in Maia (Portugal), to manage the revenues, allowing real-time visualization and production reports.

The plant reached its maximum capacity and was replaced by a new factory in Sines, with a greater production capacity, more flexibility, and enormous potential for expansion.

Customer support was kept, even though in the initial years of the Sines plant's operation, Microprocessador did not have a direct intervention. Later on, Microprocessador was asked to submit a proposal for the replacement of the DCS advanced control system, an alternative to the Emersen system in use.

In order to meet this challenge, Microprocessador has developed a partnership strategy with Siemens, the manufacturer of the technology, and with Coem, a company that worked with the customer and had the know-how of the existing technology, allowing a safer transition to the new solution.
substituição de uma tecnologia Emersen por uma tecnologia Siemens SIMATIC PCS7.

The integration of the Siemens SIMATIC PCS7 system was intended for the automated control of the formaldehyde production plant and the resin production plant with eight (8) production units (reactors). It was a pioneering process, the replacement of Emersen technology with Siemens SIMATIC PCS7 technology. It is important to highlight that the entire process was performed with the plant in operation. A case study acknowledged by SIEMENS.
